Yup, looks like fresh rail trail.  How ya like those 42mm tires?  I'm usually on 32mm on that type of stuff, but some fast 42s could be a lot of fun

These Gravel Kings are nice tires. Hard to beat. Comfy and still fast on mixed surfaces. They measure out to 45mm on these rims. Perfect for the roads around here. Even the paved roads are rough chipseal, or potholes and patched up. I'm around 180 lbs with gear, and run the tires at 38-40 psi.

I looked in the dictionary under the word gravel and they had that picture. Sweet.

Nice looking surface. It almost looks manicured.

Another view. The roads are mostly like this with sand/gravel mix. Only the lucky sections get the crushed limestone smoothed out with steamrollers.

Lol, this the Michiana area. I'm in South Bend, IN and the roads are mostly the southern Michigan border. We have a race every spring called the "Melting Mann". It's part of a Michigan gravel race series.

We are truly blessed with gravel and excellent rail trails in Michigan.
