Has anyone tried one of these Sun race cassettes?  What is interesting about them is that they are 11 speed road cassettes that fit on 10 speed road or 11 speed mountain freehubs but with 11-32 or 11-36 gearing.  Seems like a good option if you are running mountain wheels or older road wheels and want a 2x11 system.  With a 2x you certainly don't need an 11-40 , 11-42 or 11-46 which are really the only options from SRAM and Shimano.

Why would you not need an 11-40 with a 2x? I'm running an 11-40 with a 46/30 crank. Since I've hit 70 I need all the help I can get :-)

FWIW Shimano now has an 11-34 11 speed cassette that will fit a 10 speed hub, HG800.

The current Specialized Sequoia Elite comes stock with a 2x11 Shimano / FSA set up and a Sun Race 11-36 cassette.....It is just as good as any Shimano or SRAM I have used. Looks better in black also!

Hmmm, this is an interesting discussion of a rather complicated topic, given all the new options out there.  That said, I have an Ultegra 6800 CS Di2 with 52-34 and 11-32 and  I need more teeth! [wink]
I'm looking for the "ultimate" gearing set up that still retains the smooth shifting characteristics of the current Di2 set up.  Anyone use the Di2 with say a 36t cassette or a 46-30 cr or similar?

I'm running an Ultegra Di2 11 speed with a 46-30 Sugino crank and an 11-40 Shimano cassette with a Wolf Tooth Road Link on a Seven Evergreen. It all seems to work OK.

Wow, that's a lot 'o teeth there Jeb!  I was hoping not to change out the crank ($$$), but it's nice to know what can be done.  Is the 11-40 an XT cassette, and  adding the Road Link is all that was necessary to get the derailleur to reach?

Yes, it's an XT cassette with a long cage Di2 derailleur and the Road Link.
