I have a friend that's mounted them in that position in lieu of aero bars.  I guess once they are there you can certainly use them to mount stuff.   Whatever works for you, right?!

Yeah, I was just thinking about trying one, to add my computer to. Not enough room on bakr for phone, computer, light, hrm. Might go clip on s also...kust mulling things over.

I would worry about clamping on on a bar in areas not engineered for clamping. Plus the clamp diameter may be too small to fit other than on the ends of flat bars. 

I got some of these from eBay and like them a lot.

I have set of bar ends mounted to the ends of Titec J bars (similar to the Jones Cut H bars) that act as aero bars.  I could definitely see using them as accessory mounting spot.
