I ride gravel with a Salsa Warbird Rival 22 carbon but on some occasions I find I want to ride a group ride, charity ride of 50-100 miles on asphalt. I am thinking of going to a set of rims, tires and cassette for quick change when these events come up.

The question is, how much will I gain in mph/energy efficiency over a hundred miles of asphalt over my current set up? The Teravails will take up to 75-80 psi when I ride around 50 psi for gravel. Advice from dealer so far is that I would notice a "lot" of difference for a long asphalt ride over my current set up. Basically, I'm looking for several MPH over my 13.5 mph on most of my 20 mile gravel rides.

Looking for ideas and opinions from anyone who does similar riding.

In for answers. I am thinking about a set of dedicated pavement wheels.

I'm keeping my SWISS DT wheels and just going with 700x28 for road riding.
